1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SE Sunroof Coupe

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the fundamental basics for the modern-day Mercedes-Benz can trace their heritage back to the 250SE. It is a design that has evolved over the past four decades and perfected with time and fine-tuning.



The 250SE Cabriolet Mercedes was powered by a 2.5-liter six-cylinder engine that could achieve speeds of nearly 120 mph. This was a tremendous accomplishment for the five-passenger vehicle as it weighed 3,285 pounds. The cars featured 14-inch wheels and a hydro-pneumatic unit on the rear axle. Disc brakes could be found on all four corners, which greatly increased the cars performance.



250SE10086122: This wonderful example of a classic Mercedes Benz 250SE Coupe received an extensive rebuild from bumper to bumper by a previous caretaker approximately 15 years ago, while spending over $23,000 in parts alone and countless hours of labor.



As an excellent driver quality example, the fuel injected 2.5 liter motor starts right up without any effort and idles perfectly. The 250 is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission and thus has a little more pick up and go than the automatic. The clutch works great and the transmission shifts smooth with no gear/synchro crunch. The car tracks tightly and stops straight under any circumstances.



The Mercedes still retains all of its original instruments, radio, clock, and A/C equipment. Despite cracking and chipping of the dashboard veneer, the 250’s interior presents quite excellent throughout.
